"Lullaby" is a song by American rock singer Shawn Mullins, from the album Soul's Core. It was released in 1998. The song has been Mullins' most successful song to date, reaching #1 on the Adult Top 40, #7 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #9 on the Modern Rock Tracks.[1] It also had success abroad, reaching #5 on the Australian Singles Chart (ARIA) and #2 on the Canadian Singles Chart.[2] The single is featured in The Office when Michael Scott plays the song to reassure himself after finding out that Dunder Mifflin may be going bankrupt. It has appeared on thirty-two different releases including the original album, Soul's Core, greatest hits albums, 1990s compilations and acoustic compilations.[3]

Then about 10 years ago, I had what Dar Williams calls a ‘monster hit’ [Lullaby] and it was. It was like a monster because I found myself going from places like this to opening for the Backstreet Boys and En Vogue and Destiny's Child. It was very weird, it was a little surreal for me I will admit. I was standing up there solo at Madison Square Garden just going ‘What am I doing here?’
